Jose Luis Urrutia (Bilbao, 1958).
He took his first steps in the world of literature by the hand of poetry, a genre in which he published the book Sangre enamorada (1981). His first novel introduced a character called Elías de Aldama, whose adventures are spread out over four episodes. The series began with the title El Ayalés. La Historia de Elías de Aldama (Beta, 2001), which was followed by Los caminos de Elías (2002) and Tan lejos de Ayala (2003), with the concluding episode being La sombra de Lanzuri (2006), the latter three published by Ttarttalo.
Apart from these novels, he has written Los demonios de la guarda (2004) and Ignacio. Los años de la espada (2005), both published by Txalaparta, and El Inquilino del balneario de Orduña (2006), published by Beta.
In addition, he has contributed several articles to the cultural magazine Aunia, to the Pérgola supplement of the Bilbao magazine and to the magazine Neu. He has also submitted short stories for the collections Lecturas entre paradas and Lecturas en el Arenal. Over the past eighteen months he has produced a page dedicated to Companies with History (Empresas con Historia) and an opinion column for the business newspaper Gestión 2-17.
